Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Drops Oct. 17

The next major update for Windows 10—the Fall Creators Update—will be available worldwide on Oct. 17, Microsoft announced Fri at IFA 2022 in Berlin.

In a blog post, Windows Chief Terry Meyerson said the update is "all about unleashing your creativity and having some fun while at the aforementioned time keeping you safe and secure."

Mayhap the most heady characteristic arriving with the update is Windows Mixed Reality, the software giant's platform that will piece of work with new VR headsets and motility controllers from companies such as Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Also on tap is an updated Game Mode, which lets your games "use the total processing ability of your device as if it was an Xbox game panel," plus a new accessibility feature chosen Eye Control for those with Lou Gehrig's disease, and security updates designed to better protect against ransomware and malware.
